Learn About Dr. Gisonda
I've been a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner since 2010. I earned my masters degree from Columbia University School of Nursing and my doctorate from SUNY Stony Brook School of Nursing. I have practiced across the spectrum of care but more recently I've narrowed my focus primarily to women's mental health care. My primary role in your care would be medication management, though I strongly integrate other therapeutic modalities as well. I treat conditions including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, Major depression, generalized anxiety, panic, OCD and symptoms related to stress, such as sleep disruption.
Hearing your story will help us establish a collaborative partnership. We will work together to identify your mental health and wellness goals. I incorporate CBT and psychodynamic modalities into our sessions for skill building and enhancing self awareness for personal growth. I like to "keep it real" allowing for progress, but with a warm and humorous tone.
